Many Projects!

Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't blogged recently I've just been so busy with many projects. Christmas tests is in 3 weeks and I have lots of projects due for then. 

   I have a geography world project due. That is taking up a lot of my time. It will be my Christmas test grade and I'm nervous that I won't get it completed on time.

  I also have a local history project due. I'm doing mine on the are of Celbridge. I'm doing most of mine on Castletown House. 

  Mini Company is taking up a lot of time as well. We are working very hard on our mini company.

Trip To Town!!

Hey guys,

So last Thursday we had such a fun day. We went into town to see the Yates exhibition, the art gallery and the bog bodies. 
The first place we went to was the Yeats exhibition. This is an exhibition that shows all of W.B.Yates First and best work. It had a lot of his original manuscripts and poems.

The next place we went to was the art gallery. This was a lot of fun. It showed many different paintings from many different artists. We focused mainly on the Irish artist Jack.B.Yeats. My favorite painting of Jack.B.Yeats was 'The Liffey Swim'.

We had two hours for lunch on Grafton Street. We all went to McDonalds again. It was delicious. 
After my food I had McFlurry.

The final place we went to were the Bog Bodies. They were in the National Museum. I found these very interesting because I couldn't understand how bodies could survive  for 2000 years. We were able to tell how the men died, what height they were and what they last ate before they died. The bog was able to preserve the bodies for 2000 years.

Zumba! Zumba!

Hey guys,

So last Friday we did Zumba for p.e. A woman called Grainne Showed us the Zumba. It is a dance fitness programme and it's very good for you. My class, Tereshkova, and half of class Tabei did Zumba on Friday at 2.00pm. I had so much fun whilst doing Zumba. Everyone enjoyed it so much that many of us are thinking of joining Zumba outside of school. 

We will be doing Zumba during p.e for the next 6 weeks. I have my second Zumba class later today and I can't wait :)

Xtraordinary Science!

Hi guys,

So on Monday we went to a talk in Tallaght IT. As part of science week our science teachers took us to Tallaght IT for a talk on science. The science programme was called 'Xtraordinary Science'. The talk was given by an English man names James Soper. We arrived early so one of the lecturers took us on a tour of the college and showed us the room where they make bacteria.


The show was incredible. There was another school there watching the show as well. James showed us many experiments. He made a mini explosion happen and when it did I screamed because I got a fright. 

On the way home we were allowed to go into Liffey Valley for lunch. Once again we had McDonalds. We were in there for 2 hours and we were allowed to look around the shops as well.
It was a great day overall.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

We have had such a busy week this week.
  
        On Tuesday we found out that we will be going on two trips next week. We are going on a science trip next Monday and next Thursday we are going on an english trip. We're going to see the bog bodies for english.


          We have come a long way with our Mini Company. Our mini co. is 'The Retractables'. They are retractable earphones. We started taking orders on Thursday and its working out really well. We're taking orders on Thursdays and Fridays on the science corridor at lunch time.           We found also found out that we have to have a religion presentation finished for two weeks time. It is a very hard deadline to meet but if we work hard we will do it. We also have our geography project to finish. Its a project about travelling around the world and seeing different places.

Wacky Week!

Hey there,

 What a week its been. It's the last week before mid term and its been a fun week. I had work experience on Wednesday. It was lots of fun. I was with senior infants for most of the day and we did art and p.e. We also sang along to songs in the chart at the moment. 





Today we are having a dress up day for Halloween. It's lots of fun. I'm dressed up as a cat. We're doing fun things in school today. At lunch time there's a parade in the hall for the best dressed, Sarah Lou has been nominated from Tereshkova to walk in the parade.

Fun Walk woo! :)

Hey guys,

So we had fun walk last Friday. It was during Friendship Week. It was a day where we all dressed up and did a dance for the school to see. Ty's had to dress up in yellow so our class were minions from "Despicable Me!" We did our dance to 'Wannabe' by The Spice Girls.

After our dance we went on a walk around our village. When we got back to the school after the walk we had refreshments. It was a fun day overall.

Road Safety and Work Experience 2 :)

Hey guys,
I've had a busy week in school this week. On Tuesday we had a talk on road safety. The talk lasted for the whole day. The programme was called "Drive for Life". In the morning we learned all about the dangers of driving. I must admit it scared me to see what can happen while you are driving a car but it really opened up my eyes. In the afternoon we learned all about getting a provisional driving licence and passing your driving test. We also did a practice theory test and I just passed because I got 35/40. 

     Yesterday I had week 2 of work experience. I really enjoyed it yesterday. I spent the whole day with the junior infants. We did art and sang songs. After lunch their teacher asked me to read them their story. When the junior infants went home I still had an hour to spare so I helped tidy up the books in the 'Book Fair', which is in the school at the moment. I really enjoyed myself!

Work Experience week 1 :)

Hey guys,
So I had my first week of work experience last Wednesday. I went to my old primary school. I got up at 7.30, so that I would be ready to leave at 8.30. I was really nervous going into the school for the first time. I didn't know what to expect. Once I got in there I was fine. I was given a timetable by my supervisor and that had the rooms that I needed to go to and at what time.
    I was with senior infants, first class and fourth class on my first day. I did art with the senior infants and I had lots of fun. My first day was mostly spent getting to know the school again because I haven't been there for 4 years.

Workshops :)

Hey there,

It is week 2 of TY and I'm having a great time. On Wednesday the 4th of September I had my first day of workshops. We did 3 different workshops throughout the day. 

Our first workshop was a 'Positive Party'. This was great fun. We had sweets and listened to music and danced. We learned how to 'trigger' a memory and have general fun. I left that workshop in a very good mood.


Our second workshop was 'Life without Limits'. This taught me how to face my fears. I also learned how to build on my confidence.
Our third workshop was a massage workshop. I really enjoyed this. I learned how to give a massage and relieve stress. When I left the workshop I was very relaxed.

Survived Week One!!

Hey there,
This is my first blog post so I'll tell you about my week and what I have to look forward to in the future. On Thursday 29th of August I arrived into school for my first day in
TY. I was quite nervous because I was going into a whole new class. Luckily I've ended up in a class with 3 of my best friends. Our class name is Tereshkova, she was the first woman to go to space. 
I have gotten a few projects to do already. I have to do a geography project to do on the county Limerick. I also have to do a religion project to do on the Development Millennium Goals.  In 2 weeks we are going on a trip to Carlingford Adventure Centre, I'm really looking forward to that trip. I am doing art this year and I have never done it before and I'm finding it difficult. My work experience is starting in 3 weeks and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm going to my primary school for my first work experience. 
We've also started a project in Home Economics. It's called 'Junk Kouture'. I'm really excited about this because I love Home-Ec and this project is going to be really fun.
TY is definitely keeping me busy and I'm having a really good time.
